In the report Vol. 2, I wrote about the two leading actors starting filming...but of course, other casts have also started filming~!

On the other hand, on the day Tokyo had very heavy rain, Serizawa family started filming. the scene was where Serizawa family was hosting a gorgeous party at their huge mansion. in the elegant atmosphere, which was  in contrast to the atmosphere of the outside with thunder and lightning, Gekidan Hitori, who plays Naoto's brother, Ishizaka Kouji who plays Naoto's father and other superstars gathered together and filming started.

Surprise guest cast is...!!!

In a rush, a surprise guest cast has been decided...!!!

Well...surprise!  in the first episode, Ninomiya Kazunari san from Arashi will appear!

He said he wanted to support leader's Drama, and adjusted his busy schedule to appear in the drama for us!

Oh-chan seemed relaxed fimling the drama with a member from Arashi. they never stopped smiling during the filming breaks, sitting next to each other on chairs.

I got the impression that Arashi members are really good friends...

However, once the filming started, the atmosphere changed quickly...showing great acting skills, two of them acting with sparks flying.

Ninomiya san was very passionate despite being a guest cast and was discussing how to act his character seriously with oh-chan and the director.

Only a short filming, but we felt stimulated by his appearance. Thank you Ninomiya san!

It is a secret where he appears!

You would be surprised.

The biggest enemy of filming during this season is "rain".

we film happenings in one day according to the scenario would be filmed over a few days...so if you film outside when it is raining, then scenes filmed on different days without rain would not connect...you cannot have rain and sunshine in one day disrupting the story...so if it starts raining, we have to stop filming.

So, filming during rain season gives us headaches...

BUT we have a strong alliance...
His name is Ikuta Toma.
I call him "good looking sunshine man" (well, no twist in naming)

Ikuta kun attracts sun.
Even if it is very cloudy, when Ikuta kun appears, the sun shines and becomes sunny.
Filming staff feel almost awed by his power to attract sunshine.

However, we also have strong enemy...
His name is Ohno Satoshi...

As soon as Oh-chan appear, cloud gather and big drops of rain start falling...
Weather report is just a pipe dream when you have Oh-chan.

The weather report announced it would be sunny in the morning...yet rain would start...
AND...as soon as Oh-chan leaves the filming site, the sun came out.

So, oh-chan is referred to as "rainman" at the filming site...
However, it suits the character of Maou...

Well, this drama, "rain" is actually a very important motif and important scenes are all in rain.
Why is it?
well, solving that puzzle would be part of fun watching Maou.

Stella Kaoruko is a Japanese clairvoyant whose Tarot Card deck she designed with an artist was used in the Original Korean version of Maou.

The Japanese version is also going to use and feature the same deck of Tarot...

I believe the Hermit symbolises Ohchan's Maou character lawyer and the Hanged Man symbolises Ikuta's detective character...

この日から長い長い3ヶ月がスタートしました。
On this day, long long 3 months has started.

記念すべき1シーン目は、大野くん演じる成瀬領が裁判所で法廷に座っているシーンから。
Commemorable  first scene was  the scene where Ryo Naruse, played by Ohno-kun, is sitting at the bench at the law court.

弁護士バッジを付けたスーツを身にまとい、黒い大きな革の鞄を抱えて登場した大野くんは、助監督から「主演の大野智さんです！」と紹介されると、「今日からよろしくお願いします！！」と大きな声で挨拶をし、気持ちのいいスタートとなりました。

Ohno-kun appeared wearing a suit with lawyer's badge, and carrying a large  black leather bag,  was introduced by  the assistant  director  saying "here is the leading actor, Ohno  Satoshi -san !" and in reply, greeted in a laud voice saying "look forward to working with you from today", and filming started pleasantly.
 

緊張感が伝わってくる法廷シーン。
You can feel the tension from the law court scene.
 
大野くんが緊張してしまうのも無理ないですね。
It is no wonder it made Ohno-kun feel nervous.

He had to enter the bench immediately (after he appeared) and I could hear him mumble "the other day I was sitting on the other side, but today, I need to sit here...oh no...".

 実は大野君、撮影が始まる前に本物の裁判所へ勉強のために行ったようで、傍聴席に座って弁護士さんの仕事ぶりを見学してきたのだとか。
Apparently, Ohno-kun  went to a law court before the filming started to study and observe the real lawyer's job, sitting in the court gallery seat. 

 だから“あっち側”なのです。
That's why he said "(he was sitting on)the other side"

今日は弁護士として“こっち側”、つまり法廷内に入るので、役柄とはいえ緊張が走ったようです。
Today, he had to enter "this side", the bench, as a lawyer...so even it was for his character for the drama, he seemed to have felt nervous.
 

クランイン弁当！
Special first day of filming Lunch Box!

初日はこんな風になっている事が多く、お祝いムードです。
This often happens on the first day of filming and the atmosphere is celebratory.

 でも、時折加藤監督から飛んでくる指示を「はい、分かりました」と静かに頷く姿は真剣そのもので、このドラマに懸ける意気込みが伝わってきました。
However, his demeanor , nodding to the instructions given by the director Katou every now and then, was very serious, and I could feel his enthusiasm towards this drama.

生田くんが魂を捧げた加藤新監督ですッ！
This is the director Katou, who Ikuta-kun has devoted his soul to!

この日の夕方、このドラマのもう一人の主演・芹沢直人役の生田斗真くんもクランクイン！
In the evening of the same day, another leading actor, Ikuta Toma -kun who plays Serizawa Naoto also started filming!

2人が揃ったところで、待ってましたとばかりに編成担当の三島さんより“魔王”という名の入手困難な芋焼酎が２人にプレゼントされました。
Now that we had both leading actors together, Editor Mishima -san presented them with very rare and hard to get Shochu (potato wine) called "Maou".

 このサプライズには2人ともびっくり！！
Both of them were truly surprised by this surprise gift.

と同時に、と～～っても嬉しそうで「ありがとうございますッ！！！早速飲ませて頂きます」と満面の笑みで受け取っていました。
at the same time (of being surprised), they received the gift with big smiles, saying "thank you so much! will drink it straight away".

 この後始まった撮影では、昼間にクランクインをした咲田しおり役の小林涼子ちゃんに、刑事としての熱い思いをぶつけるというシーンを撮影。
After that, he filmed a scene where he expresses his passionate feeling as a detective to the character Sakata Shiori, played by Kobayashi Ryoko-chan who started filming for the first time at around lunch time that day.

 数日前に行われた顔合わせの席で「この夏は加藤監督に魂を捧げるつもりです！」と言っていた生田くんは、宣言通り、初日から熱い演技を繰り広げてくれました。
Ikuta-kun who was saying "this summer, I will devote my soul to the director Katou!" at the meeting which took place a few days prior,  acted with passion  from the start  just as he  declared  at the meeting.

 大声を張り上げ、全身で思いをぶつける姿を見た加藤監督は「いいねぇ。熱いねぇ。」と大満足のご様子。
Director Katou was saying "great... very passionate..." and seemed to be extremely satisfied with Ikuta-kun expressing his emotions using his entire body and speaking loudly.

加藤監督が思い描いている芹沢直人がそこにはいたようです。
It seemed "Serizawa Naoto" he was looking for was there. 　

冷徹非情な復讐鬼と熱血刑事の戦いはまさに始まったばかり。
The battle between the cold and hard-hearted avenger and passionate detective has just started.

2人共、100％の力を出して新しい役に挑戦していますので、7月4日（金）よる10時はお見逃しなく！
Both of them are putting in 100% effort, playing difficult characters....please do not miss (the first episode) Friday 4th July at 10pm!

*Around 40 is the drama being shown currently in the time slot of Maou, so 10pm~ on Fridays...SO, if you have access to Japanese TV, get ready to RECORD and CAPTURE 15seconds of Maou Ochan xxx
I shall wait for someone lovely to upload it xxx
BTW...Friday the 13th??? I wonder if they meant it to be the first day of promotion using the 15seconds CM...? hehehe

New addition to the Maou website - a blog by  assistant (tie-up/collaborative) producer...! You can find a new menu item "渡辺P日記" on the right hand side of the menu~~~!

*I am not sure what "協力プロデューサー" which translates directly to collaborative producer...what does it really mean?  - I will just call him an assistant producer...unless someone who knows the industry can give me some insight,ne!

Vol.1【撮影快調！緑山スタジオに魔王現る！】

「魔王」スタッフの渡辺です。
I am a staff who works on "Maou".

ここではこの夏で一番熱いドラマを作ろうと燃えている「魔王」チームの現場の奮闘ぶりや、
出演者の皆さんのオフショットや撮影エピソードなど、
ドラマ「魔王」がもっと面白くなる制作秘話や現場レポートをお届けしていきたいと思います。
I would like to use this diary/blog to report the effort made by Maou team who is burning with passion to create the hottest drama for this summer, casts' off the shoot face, filming episodes etc. - such things as secret behind the scenes and filming report - that will make watching TV drama Maou even more interesting.

さて、ロケは５月末日にクランクインし、順調に撮影が続いております。
Filming on location started towards the end of May and filming is going very well.

大野クンはコンサートツアーの合間にトレードマークだった金髪を、真っ黒に染め、
表は心優しく"天使の弁護士"と呼ばれながらも、裏では復讐に執念を燃やす"魔王"役に
挑戦しています。
Ohno-kun dyed his blond hair he was famous for to black between the concert tour, and has taken on a challenge of playing Maou character who has a facade of angelic lawyer but hidden underneath is Maou who is obsessed with revenge.

難しい役にも関わらず、優しくて朗らかな素顔から一転、持ち前の抜群の演技力で、
キューが出るとすっかり悪魔に変身！
Although it is a very difficult character, once the director cues him in, he transforms into the devil using his great acting skills from his usual gentle and cheerful self.

モニターを見ているスタッフは思わず、「魔王だよぉ」と呟いてしまうのです。
Staff checking on monitor cannot help but　mutter "wow he is Maou"...

一方、生田クンも髪を短く切って、熱血刑事・芹沢直人に挑んでくれてます。
at the same time, Ikuta-kun has also taken on a challenge of playing passionate detective, Naoto Serizawa.

これまでの生田クンとは一味違う"男っぽい"雰囲気は、絶対に見逃せません！
You cannot miss Ikuta-kun who shows very "manly" image which is nothing like the character he has played in the past.

この役もまた暗い過去を持っており、熱さの中に切なさが垣間見えるという難しい役。
This is also a very difficult character who has a dark past and his pain peers through  within his passion.

しかし、さすが生田斗真。役者魂と根っからの熱さで、すっかり直人に変身！
However, as expected, Ikuta-kun, born with acting spirit and passion, transforms into Naoto!

モニターを見ているスタッフは、「熱いねぇ」と思わず呟いてしまうのでした。
Staff checking on monitor cannot help but　mutter "wow he is so passionate"...

そして、今日はスタジオでの撮影初日。
Today, we filmed in a studio.

美術スタッフ渾身の警察署のセットが組まれ、今こうして書いている間も大野クンと生田クンが
第１話のクライマックス＝"魔王"と"熱血刑事"の対決シーンが撮影されています。
Art staff put in their heart and soul to create a police station in a studio and as I write this, Ohno-kun and Ikuta-kun  is being filmed for a climax scene of the first  episode -  confrontation between Maou and the detective.

超クールな大野クンと、男らしさ剥き出しの生田クンは、このドラマでしか見られない必見映像ですよ！！
You must not miss super cool ohno-kun and red-blooded Ikuta-kun that you would only see on this drama!!

ちなみに、お隣のスタジオでは、「渡る世間は鬼ばかり」の収録中。
By the way, they are filming "wataru seken ha oni bakari" (the world is full of ogre).

この夏、緑山スタジオには"悪魔"と"鬼"が棲んでいます。
This summer, the devil and the ogre reside at Midoriyama studio ...

Brand new Maou website is up! It is soooooooooo coool !
