Sho - Oshareism: ARASHI members dating????

So, my work and other commitments kept me away from vox...
I have barely kept up with watching Arashi programs for the past month...they are so busy, appearing in so many TV programs...new single...magazines...ahhhhhhhhhh

I am happy for the boys as they are climbing to the TOP - where they have always wanted to be...

But goodness me! I still have back logs of many TV show appearances I have not had time to watch ...lol

Anyway...I did MAKE time to watch Oshareism after hearing some gossip about Sho finally "coming out".

Well...it certainly sounded like he did...!!! lol

Here is the quick translation of the part where Sho "came out" about Arashi members dating...

The MC of the show talked about the comments from Nino saying that Sho made Nino laugh so much when he wore his father's underwear to work without realising and by mistake.

The MC then said that what he found interesting was the fact Nino noticed Sho was wearing different underwear to what Sho usually wears...

Sho: 「わかるんですよ、メンバーのパンツは！！」 Wakarundesuyo, Member no pantsu wa!
We know about members' undies!
MC: 「え？つきあってんのか？」 e? tsukiattennnoka?
What? Are you guys dating???
Sho：「つきあってもいますけど．．．」Tsukiatte mo imasukedo
We are (sort of) dating, but...

Trust me...I did repeatedly watch just that part to be sure.
Sho definitely AGREES with the question by MC.
He does not specify who or anything and MC did not seem to notice Sho's comment and kept teasing him about members noticing each others undies. Sho kept going along saying more stuff about undie check that goes on among Arashi members. Saying things like when he had a pair of new undies on about a week ago, a member said "Oh, new undies!" and things like that...

Maybe Sho did not mean for his comment to come out like it...maybe he meant it LOL

I thought it was interesting - and also intrigued that not many people are discussing it - only a few people...Maybe I am searching the wrong places on the net,ne!

Has anyone else heard about this/watched it and thought the same as me?
Am I going crazy (with working too much, maybe?)
Maybe my Japanese hearing skills getting so bad that I cannot even listen and understand my native language as well as I used to???

Let me know if anyone figure it out LOL

I am still busy with work and other projects going on...but am still lurking around in the background ... will try and visit my friends when I can on vox and leave comments if possible...but if not...please do understand that I am busy - but you are NOT forgotten!!!!

Dating each other? If it makes them happy, I'm happy! ^^ But I don't understand japanese so I can't help you, if you heard it correctly. But it's Arashi. They love each other! ^^

I'm assuming the host asked if Sho was dating Nino just because Nino's picture was there beside the words but that was added by the staff so we can never be sure. XD

One quick question... can 付き合う also mean to accompany or spend time with someone? I guess that's what I thought of first when I heard it... only because using it to mean that they're dating each other is just too good to be true~ XD Though even if that was how Sho meant it I'm sure he was only kidding... x3 Oh well, it fuels the crack. And it was so cute too.

I did!! I heard that part. And really, when the host asked, I was laughing and thought "woot? You didn't realize it??". But I was shocked when Sho actually didn't deny it!

Then I tried to calm myself, saying that 'tsukiau" might mean something else, Seeing that my Japanese is somewhere close to zero, I settle with that.

BUT!!!! Oh, reading your entry just made me want to watch the video again!! Whatever, they're dating or not. I love how good the relation between arashi members is.

Arashi is Alive, too...lol　The boys are working so hard and it is hard to keep up...!!!　

Sho-kun was full of Arashi raburabu,ne.Especially with "Ohno"...! I must say I loved how he kept calling Oh-chan "Ohno". It may have been MC's mistake, but comment from Oh-chan, it was read "Sho" as well...not Shokun, just "Sho". I do not think I have ever heard Oh-chan calling Shokun just "Sho" before.

Well, Sho kun actually said "Tsukiatte mo imasukedo"
that "mo" usually means "also/too" but did not make sense and I was not sure how to interpret it...so I put (sort of)...but maybe we should just interpret it as
"We are dating,too... but..."and let our imagination run wild...LOL

I am not sure what he meant by it but he certainly did agree with "dating" thing...just did not make it clear who...XD

Just to set the record straight...I can never be sure...as what Sho said was what Sho said...(we are dating)...but I would imagine Sho probably said it more as a light hearted humour or a bit of fan service.

My Blog entry was also a bit of light hearted fun, too...Arashi is famous for their raburabu,ne...and their crack XD ...

Like you, I would be happy as long as they are happy, and if they do happen to be really dating each other, good luck to them and I am sure many fans would approve lol but just to avoid confusion...I am pretty sure they are raburabu group, and get along well ...but dating...well...some of us like to have fun with their crack...!

from what I can see in the fandom, many enjoys their crack while some others do not. It is all just a bit of fun so do not take it too seriously,ne!

You are right in saying that the MC asked Sho if he was dating Nino, since they were talking about Nino's comments. However, when Sho replied, he said "member" and did not specify who. So his subsequent comment about dating can be taken any way we want to...*evil smile*

付き合う (tsukiau) can also mean "to accompany or spend time with someone". For example,

kaimono ni tsukiau

would mean go along (accompany someone to) shopping

but in this interview, the MC definitely used the word to mean dating and Sho replied accordingly XD

Who knows what Sho really meant...but he said it! And we are free to do what we want with that, hey XD

I like putting both hiragara and romaji plus translations as I figured that some of the fans may not know much Japanese - in that case, without Roma-ji, they would not know which part of the program I am talking about.

With romaji, at least those non-Japanese speakers can try and listen to the *interesting bits* lol

I sometimes forget to hiragara things as the computer automatically transforms what I type ...but will try to make sure now that any translation like this one , I will do hiragana,ne! Great to know it is appreciated!
