　人気グループ「嵐」の大野智（２８）が、来年１月１６日スタートのテレビ朝日系ドラマ「歌のおにいさん」（金曜・後１１時１５分）に主演すること が７日、分かった。

It was reported that Ohno Satoshi (28) of a popular group Arashi, will star in a TV Asahi drama Uta no Oniisan (Fri 2315start) from 16th Jan, 2009.

子供向け教育番組の歌のお兄さん役でちびっ子たちと触れ合いながら、お堅い番組内で奮闘する。

He will struggle as a Uta no Oniisan (singing brother/singing man = a kids TV presenter ) on a very old fashioned/constrained and strict kids educational tv program .

７月期のＴＢＳ系「魔王」で演じた復讐 （ふくしゅう）の鬼から一転、初挑戦のコメディーで新しいお兄さん像を描く。

Taking a complete 180 degree turn from avenging evil character played in Maou which was aired in July on TBS channel, Ohno will try his first comedy role and will develop a new kind of Uta no Oniisann character.

　物語は、一風変わった子供向け音楽番組「みんなでうたお！」が舞台。

The story is set around a sort of weired music show for kids called Minnade Utao (Lets sing together).

ベテランの歌のお兄さんが権力を利かせるなど古い慣例がはびこり、歌のお姉さんの陰にも隠れる番組内で、新人お兄さんが子供たちと触れ合いながら成長するさまをコミカルに描く。

The story comically depicts a young and coming Oniisan growing and developing as a person through interacting with children struggling within the work environment where old fashioned customs are followed such as veteran/more senior Uta no Oniisan who has been around for ages abusing power and authority, needing to hide behind Uta no Oneesan (singing sister/girl, female kids tv presenter).

　映画、舞台も通じて初めてコメディーに挑む大野は、史上最凶のお兄さん・健太役。

Ohno, who has never played comedy in movies or theatre plays, will challenge the role of the worst Oniisann, Kenta.

所属バンドが解散し、恋人にはふられ、家族からもニートの「ダメ男」の烙印（らくいん）を押されるが、図らずも歌のお兄さんとなって孤軍奮闘する。

The band Kenta belonged is no longer...a girlfriend leaves him, family members all regard him as a no hoper and writes him off...but Kenta struggles on as a lone soldier.

　ＴＢＳ系「魔王」の復讐に燃える冷徹な弁護士役から大胆にイメージを変え、ちびっ子と陽気な歌やダンスも披露する。

Ohno has done a complete turn around and transformed from a cold blooded avenging lawyer on TBS drama Maou, and are expected to entertain us with fun songs and dance with the kids.

テレ朝の川西琢プロデューサー は「『魔王』でのシリアスな芝居は圧巻の一言。

Kawanishi Taku(?) producer from TB Asahi said that Ohno's serious performance on Maou was breathtaking.

そのポテンシャルで、今度はコミカルに世の中に元気や希望を与えていただきたいと思いました。

He said that he wanted to unleash Ohno's potential in a form of comedy and wanted to channel power and hope to today's world.

大野さん演じ る歌のお兄さんだからこそ、その歌声が、多くの視聴者の方々に感動的に届くはずだと思います」と期待を寄せる。

Kawanishi producer believes that Uta no Oniisann played by Ohno,and because it would be Ohno's voice, many of the viewers will be touched.

Ohno said,

前回（の『魔王』）とはまったく違うコメディなので、どう演じようか楽しみです。
As this character is so different from the one I played in Maou previously, I am excited to think about how to act it.

自分の素にも似ている感じの役なので、楽しんでやれたらと思っていま す。
The character resembles myself a bit, so I hope to enjoy playing this role.

見ている方々にも楽しんで見て欲しいし、健太が頑張っている姿を見て、自分のやりたい仕事ができていない人たちを勇気づけられたらいいなと思います。

I would like the viewers to enjoy watching it, and it will be nice if the story of Kenta　(Ohno's character's name) putting his best effort can encourage/give hope to those people who are unfortunately not following their dream career.

奇抜な衣装に身を包み衣装すごく派手で・・・、ジャニーズJr.に戻ったような気分ですと笑顔で意気込む。
Dressed in an interesting costume, Ohno smiled and said, The character's costume is really showy ...it makes me feel like I have gone back to my Johnny's Jr days...

１８日にクランクイン予定。

The filming is scheduled to start on 18th (Dec, 2008).
