PERSONALLY...I do not really believe in gossip mags...but Ohno IS a healthy 27 y.o. boy, right?
So whatever the truth...GOOD LUCK TO HIM...if the Friday article is all crap, then I sure do hope that no one - like Ohno himself OR anyone who he cares about (like, his real girlfriend if there is one) is feeling hurt or sad about it.
I am writing this from my own point of view, adding a bit of sarcastic humor ( I cannot help myself) be warned!

Latest Scandal - Ohno & Kimika
The mag does not claim they are "dating" but implies by saying holding her so closely like that, they must be "more than friends"(sorry - it is not like I am in denial, and I certainly would congratulate him for dispelling the gay rumors with the photos...but looking at the photo...how can they say they must be dating...!!!!! LOL)
I must say...very very very cute photo of Ohno...and they both look very happy and smiley (and maybe tipsy, too) good for them!
Anyway...
So, who is Yoshino Kimika?
She was born on 5th Sep, 1975, making her about 5 years older than him.
Oh-chan and Kimika-san acted in Sengoku-Pu theater play together back in 2003.
She was very popular as Idol/Grabia Idol (sexy idol? should I say?) .
She debuted in 1989 and peaked in popularity around 1994-1996 - she was the leading actress in horror movie series called "EkoEkoAzaraku - Wizard of Darkness" in which she played a witch heroine with a dark side (and nudity!).
She used to date a big baseball star Kiyohara but dumped in 1996, suffered from anorexia after that and lost 10kg and got hospitalised, then had a brief break from her entertainment career.
She then dated Nagura san (a comedian) from 1998-2002/3 fro 5 years, and lived with him , and Nagura even did an announcement saying that he has introduced Kimika to his parents already and they are dating in view to marry...BUT ...they broke up and in ２００５、Nagura married ex-idol Watanabe Marina instead.
Poor Kimika...!
Anyway...Oh-chan and Kimika-san met in 2003 during Sengoku pu...if they are dating, we do not know since when and for how long...but hey, friend or more than friend...they seem to keep each other happy :)

In my previous entry, I have written about Oh-chan's relationship rumors entitled "Oh-chan Relationship Rumors - The Good, The Bad & The Ugly"
It seems they have been good friends since Butai, and there have been many rumors saying that they are dating.
Some people say that a "friend" Kimika refers to in her blog, is in fact, Oh-chan etc.
Apparently, there have been a few blog entries that seemed to prove that they are, at least, very good friends(if the rumor is true) and maybe even more...
For example, Kimika wrote about receiving a souvenir from a "friend" who went to Fukuoka - at the same time, Oh-chan was in Fukuoka doing Arashi concert etc.
She has been seen at Arashi concert and apparently, at one of the concerts, Oh-chan threw his sign board at her and she caught it LOL.
Well, what I know is that they are, definitely, at least, good friends.
In my previous entry,
"Riida's Friend － Junya Kudo " I introduced another good friend of Oh-chan - Kuyan.Ironically, almost a year ago, on 7th July, 2007, Kuyan wrote about drinking alone with Oh-chan at a pub.
Then, a few of their friends "happen" to come to the same pub and they ended up drinking together.
In both photos, Oh-chan was the photographer, and he sneaked in his hand doing a peace sign.
In the second photo, it shows Kimika-san (left hand side), with Ku-yan's hand around her...
I was looking at the photo...and this is where I went into a big laughing binge...
OK, so, if Friday mag says "they must be more than friends"...then Kuyan must be dating Kimika, too...LOOK AT HOW HE HOLDS KIMIKA SO CLOSE TO HIM!

JUN and Oh-chan MUST be more than friends...LOOK!
OH MY!!!!! Jun and Ohno MUST be dating!!! Look at those photos !!

AND Sho-chan, too!!! They said that they "happened to bump into each other at a festival..." no,no,no, they were on a hot date! And you know what? The photo is from a long time ago...but if it was Friday mag, it would probably say...the photo is from last summer...LOL !
How about this guy from Amatsukaze??? According to Friday, is he also dating Oh-chan? They MUST be more than just friends/colleague...???Hehehe.
When I first heard about the "scandal" ...my first thought was... who is it with ...? Sho-chan? Nino? LOL
Anyway...some rumor says that the photo Friday mag was meant to release was actually Oh-chan and Kimika doing something naughty in Kimika's car (since Oh-chan does not have a driving licence and does not have a car...) ...
Apparently, the Johnny's Jimusho negotiated with the magazine people and offered Ohno & Kimika shot instead.
Some rumor say that it is all set up - as in Jimusho knowingly leaked the photos to advertise Ohno's new drama, trying to get attention of the public...
At today's concert, apparently no one mentioned the photos or the Friday scandal...in the past, Nino dealt with his scandal saying "Don't worry...and Keep following me/Stay being my fan cuz there is nothing to worry about" sort of comment during the concert and Aiba dealt with it by apologising to the fans during the concert...with Oh-chan...nothing...
So maybe it is complete gossip/crap, or maybe it is true, maybe it is a set up publicity scam...who knows?
But what I do not understand - although I AM Japanese...is this...WHY IS IT A "BETRAYAL" to the fans if Johnny's Idol has a girlfriend??????????? Why is it such a big deal???????????? Why should the fans stop supporting them if they have so called scandals with females...??????WHY? I cannot understand...To me...well...it is awfully scary to think healthy 27yo has never had a girlfriend...especially someone as attractive as Ohno...or any other Arashi members...
I was saddened to see messages from angry fans (or people pretending to be fans) criticising Oh-chan for failing to be professional...as an idol, it is meant to be his job to hide any girlfriend related facts from his fans...he is stupid to take such photo ...he is gonnna bring Arashi down with his stupidity and unprofessionalism...etc. etc... Agggrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Please ...people...get a life! I just thought poor Oh-chan must have felt hurt if he saw any of those comments written about him...(cries)
Sorry...rant rant rant...needed to vent my frustration...

Nino's scandal pix made me laugh (was he trying to eat her face??) but Aiba's photo's made me gasp in horror.
Ugh. Terrible pics. Now THAT'S a scandal. Why were they taking pictures of themselves (semi) nude anyway? It was indeed Aiba's fault for taking those pictures in the first place. Guhh. I wanted to cry. hahahaha. But oh well, the hot blooded youth.
I can see why Jun has no scandal (as of yet) and Sho remains (relatively) unscathed... Jun seems like the extremely private type while Sho seems like someone who is very professional. They do their best not to get careless.
I mostly agree with your opinions and i laughed wholeheartedly at the whole JunToshi/Ohmiya/etc. thing.. But I must disagree with the part regarding professionalism.
It is their responsibility as public figures to keep their private lives exactly that- private. Their being branded as an "idol" or and "entertainer" already marks them as slaves to the mass audience. They exist as idols to give the public what they want. No one wants an idol who is imperfect in AND off the camera. If "idols" were portrayed to be "just like everybody else" then where's the appeal to that? Why not just stick some random person on TV and call them an idol?
So yeah, I have nothing against Ohno having a girlfriend or ANYONE in Johnny's having a life outside the camera. (I'm sure Jun and Sho have their respective love lives too.) But they should really keep it all private. After all, we don't really need to know who's dating who and what they do inside the bedroom right? They should really be more careful with their images ne? ^^;;
i mean of course they have a privat life, ne? (although i kinda like the idea arashi ends up with arashi and living happily till the very end in two hundred years - maybe XD) and as long as they're happy, of course!

As for Aiba's pics, I never consider them as "scandal" since from my perspective, they're not doing anything indecent. Edison-like pics, i.e. pics with explicit sexual activities ARE scandals to me, to be more exact, sex scandals. But moral standards may differ for each person, so one may consider this as a scandal.
I fully agree with you regarding the responsibility of idols, well not only idols, but also other entertainers, celebrities in general, to give the public what they want and keep their professionalism by not creating any scandals. And I believe what you meant by "imperfect" is "not having any scandals". Of course, the sort of scandals I've defined above, not the so-called "scandals" arising from simply kissing/hugging their partners. ^^ True/devoted fans are not those who are easily swayed away from their idols because of the so-called "betrayal". The mass audience that you talked about consists of a mix of people - rabid and irrational fans, collected and rational fans, people with fleeting interest in the celebrity, etc. Only irrational fans, be them fans of idols or non-idols, find faults in the so-called "scandals". Nitpicking the so-called "scandals" seems to be practiced more by idol fans because the rules regarding those "scandals" have been established by the talent agency since who knows when.
And that's what makes me mad.
I'm glad Captain didn't say anything at the concert. Coz I don't think he should be saying anything, much less an apology.
I see Aiba's pictures as an example of a hot-blooded young boy. He looked 'proud' to have a pretty -at least according to him she must be pretty- girlfriend and probably getting layed. Nino's pictures are more like rabu-rabu to me than 'scandalous'. And Oh-chan?? They look cute despite that she's older. And as you said, yes..it's a bit pulling it to the edge concluding they're together because Oh-chan's arm's around her. What about Nino and Oh-chan then?? They constantly do it...IN PUBLIC...they must be married already!!
But even if she WAS/IS Oh-chan's gf, so what?

Who says Japanese idols can't reveal girl/boyfriends? *blinks* There are quite a lot of idols getting married and publicly recognized as husband and wife. But I think in JE, they are under a strict code that they are not allowed to have (publicly known) girlfriends. Hahaha. But it's impossible to think otherwise ne? They ARE hot-blooded boys after all. LOL.
I think what makes this a scandal is the fact that JE forbids it and yet they are caught. Eep, there you go. Scandal. O_o But Oh-chan's pictures hardly seems harmful ne? It's even CUTE. Lol. (Like i wanna squish him to kingdom come)
But I don't think scandals could be limited to only sexual scandals. That's limiting it too much. Scandals are generally something that illicit public outrage.. Which is relative, in any case. ^^;; Obscenity really does differ in every society. So yeah, it's unavoidable ne?
With that, I really have to say something about Aiba's pics. ^^;; Let's put it this way.. Would you, a self-respecting, rational human-being, really take pictures of you and your girl/boy friend in semi-nude? For what purposes? ^^;; I guess, since Aiba is a hot-blooded male, it's for his personal uses ne... Who are we to question that right? But the point here is that he should have been extra, extra careful that it did not leak. It's his responsibility as an idol. And despite what people may say that "idols are human beings too" (No one is questioning that- of COURSE they're human too), their images are what they sell to people. Without their images, they are nothing. It's what makes an Idol and idol. The price they pay in exchange for being a celebrity... It's a little sad really but hey.. that's showbiz. ^^
I think what Aiba was apologizing to the fans was not "not being gay and being normal" but the fact that he had been careless and it had led to the tarnishing of his image. Also, for giving the fans a brief heart attack. LOL.
I'm sure that everyone in the celebrity world also have their dirty little secrets. It's a given. :) But the difference on whether this becomes a scandal is Information. Once people find out about it.. well, scandal! :) I guess we should just laugh about it and move on. It's all for publicity anyway. :)

Well, the fact that Japanese idols are under strict code that they're not allowed to have (publicly known) girl/boyfriends means that they can't reveal their girl/boyfriends (to the public). --> This is what I was trying to get across. But of course, as you've said, there are exceptions, e.g. KimuTaku and Shizuka's marriage. From what I know, they usually divulge the fact that they have boy/girlfriends when they're about to get married. Otherwise, they have to keep any boy/girlfriend-related facts secrets.
Well, actually, my previous post was meant to explain what Oz was trying to convey through this post, not so much to debate over your view on professionalism (since I mostly agree with your statements anyway, so does Oz, I believe ^^). I think, most of us here consider Johnny's rule of not allowing its idols to reveal their boy/girlfriends to the public (putting aside the exceptions) ridiculous, no? For what purpose does this rule exist, really? Well, I understand that there are a lot of fans who love to fancy having their idols to themselves. This rule exists for these people. But these people, in any way, do not have the rights to claim that idols belong to them. Idols are indeed slaves to the public - they have to give the public what they want in a sense that they must refrain from creating any scandals. They are not fans' possessions. On the other hand, for true fans like us, we are not bothered at all with our idols publicly announcing their gfs and thus, this rule doesn't hold any significant value to us. We won't regard our idol as stupid and unprofessional for failing to follow this rule. Oz was basically irked by the fact that there are people who do not understand what it means to be true fans, dramatizing the so-called "scandal" while there is no need to do so. There is no need to get worked up over two-shot pictures of Oh-chan and Kimiko being friendly with each other or over Nino's kissing and hugging pics with his past girlfriend. Because, well, they are not scandals. ^^ The public (which consists of a wider range of audience, not only the stupid irrational fans) is not even outraged with such pictures. Even mass media are not interested in reporting these so called "scandals". If one can consider them as scandals (putting aside Aiba's photos since our opinions regarding his case are different), well I've to categorize them as people who are not true fans.
We love each one of Arashi members as a person & should respect their privacy as well as their love life.

I really agree with you about the scandal thing... to an extent I feel it's unprofessional to be careless about personal photos, but even when you're careful, things like this will STILL happen and that doesn't make an artist any less professional. The idea that it's a betrayal to the fans... I think it's absurd. I don't think any of the fans should think that their idols owe them that. These people have personal live and needs too, and as fans we ought to offer them silent support in that and not lash out with criticism every time we hear something about it. I hope Ohno never sees or hears anything like what those people wrote. *sigh*

i felt totally bad, but i guess that is what acting industry is all about. but with the words from the mag, i just can't control the anger (not to offend them). . but i guess, to much scandal is bad...i dont care if ohno or nino or aiba, or jun and sho do that, as long as it is a girl and they are TRUE to each other (take note: TRUE!). and they are true friends.. (dont medle with their life)
well, enough of this, i guess being a popular one is really a hard thing to manage. but i beg, please don't do anything that wil hurt ARASHI's feelings! i mean even though they are so popular, everything has an ending, everything has limitations, and being too harrased is too bad, i mean they're hurt too about this because with the words that other people are saying, they'll feel offended, or disgraced (for me, its too much).
